It brings me great joy to announce that the hipster film camera with the broken exposure meter is now back in action! On Saturday 9th June, eBay kindly provided me with 10, 36 exposure films for the bargain price of £26.98… Thank you photoshopuk. Be prepared to see lots of blurry images of trees, flowers and everyday life (I’ll miss out the parts where I pick up dog shi*t, clean the oven out and cry because I can’t keep up with everything)
Devon.
Featuring the cutest little boy in all of history (I am biased because I am his Aunty but just look at him!!!) the cutest dog in all of history (same goes for her too) and a giant sea monster made out of sand (which I had zero input in making as I was too busy relaxing).
I’ve also enjoyed a couple of books too…
A Whole Life by Robert Seethaler
“Robert Seethaler’s quietly mesmerizing novel – elemental in both tone and subject – shows what joy and nobility can be found in a life of hardship, patience and bereavement. It is at once heart-rending and heart-warming. A Whole Life, for all its gentleness, is a very powerful book. (Jim Crace– who is an english novelist)”
I’m also reading a less exciting book called
Self-Discipline: A therapist’s guide to getting out of your own way and getting things done.
Being creative and also running a business is pretty tricky. When I don’t keep my mind focused I end up in a pickle. Ie. deciding that editing photos is not my calling for the week and making 2 dresses, a quilt and putting multiple shelves up around the flat…. That won’t be happening again. EVERYTHING IN MODERATION…. so I’ve been told.
Next up on my list is..
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Marie Ann Shaffer & Annie Barrows
Been waiting to read this for a while and I can let you know whether it’s worth the time in next months blog post OH I BET YOU CANT WAIT.
Workwise this month has been pretty chilled- I’ve photographed 3 weddings and a graduation. Next month I have 2 events, 1 engagement & 5 weddings… so not so chilled but being busy is good!
To conclude my thoughtful ramblings for this month I’ve set myself a target for July (and the rest of my life actually) …. STOP APOLOGISING FOR EVERYTHING. I’m especially bad on wedding days- out the S word comes to everyone and everything. I even apologise to tables if I walk into them. WHY DO I SAY SORRY SO MUCH.
