Georgie and JJ’s wedding was full of personality, quirky touches and the most exquisite food.
I asked them why they chose Morden Hall as their wedding venue and they told me it was the tranquility and beauty of the park, teamed with the elegance of the hall’s interior. Morden Hall is a slice of country in London and I’m not surprised they fell in love with it. Every event I’ve photographed there has run smoothly and had a great atmosphere.
From having their dog, Blue, witnessing the ceremony to the cute white owls on the top of the cake. (Liberty Lavish Cakes). Every touch was so bespoke and personal I thought I’d share it with you…

“The coordinators and staff at Morden Hall were fabulous, they made sure we didn’t have to lift a finger and we always had a drink in our hand and first pick of the nibbles. I think they knew I was too nervous to eat before the speeches, so one of the waiters kept me supplied with all the margherita pizza I could eat – it was much appreciated!” Georgie
The Wedding Dress
Georgie found her dress at Fairy Goth Mother. She wore a stunning floral wedding dress called ‘Bloom’ by Charlotte Balbier. It teamed perfectly with JJ’s blue Ted Baker suit & pink tie.
Whilst I was doing the group photos I couldn’t help noticing how spot on they had got it. The bridesmaids were in David’s Bridal tea length dark purple dress and the groomsmen in blue morning suits with purple ties.
“I went to Fairy Goth Mother and they had a fantastic selection of unusual dresses, not your average wedding dress shop! Charlotte Balbier has some gorgeous floral gowns and I was immediately drawn to the purple one, it even has pockets!” Georgie
The ceremony was beautiful and the atmosphere in the room was great. They had tasteful readings and everyone enjoyed witnessing their marriage.
“I remember telling myself to slow down and try not to sprint to the end of the aisle to see JJ! Standing at the top of the stairs and hearing the music start is probably the most vivid bit of the day for me. My maid of honour immediately burst into tears and I think it was a good thing I didn’t have much time to process before I was walking down myself! We also had JJ’s family dog, a border collie called Blue, present for most of the day, complete with formal bow tie. When we were declared officially married, everyone clapped and cheered, Blue joined in with some excited barking and stopped when everyone stopped clapping. He definitely earned his title of ‘good boy’ that day.” Georgie
Afternoon Activites
In the afternoon there were some activities outdoors for people to get stuck into, JJ and his brother set up a croquet set and ensured everyone was taught how to play Jackson Rules.
The Wedding Breakfast
There was a strong Harry Potter theme for the wedding breakfast. Rose Harhoff, a family friend, tastefully created the amazing centre pieces and JJ taped wings to Ferrero Rochers which transformed them into snitches… Such a good idea! JJ also inscribed the miniature potion bottles with his amazing calligraphy skills. It all came together so well and looked amazing.
“We both loved all the speeches, everyone did a fantastic job. My dad started his speech in Gaelic ( my family are Irish) and even worked in some Leonard Cohen lyrics.” Georgie
After the speeches JJ & George had organised a surprise to keep everyone on their toes. JJ had seen some singing waiters at another event and thought it was perfect, so they booked them to sing three songs just after the speeches. It went down a treat, They especially loved their brothers’ being personally serenaded!
Evening Celebrations
As for the evening celebrations, JJ & Georgie hired a fantastic two-man band called The Feel Good Revolution. They really kept the party going and a lot of their guests let Georgie and JJ know how much they were being enjoyed. Another big hit in the evening was a gin bar which had five different types of tonics and garnishes…. I’m not sure I need to eleaborate how well gin bars go down at weddings!
All in all it truly was an incredible day and thank you for letting me a part of it. From your engagement shoot, the wedding day and the help you gave me with this blog post, you have been absolutely amazing and deserve all the happiness in the world! Thank you x
