Chris and Samira are a really lovely couple. I thoroughly enjoyed documenting their beautiful wedding day. They were so warm and welcoming that it made my job as a Surrey Wedding Photographer very fun!
“There was one supplier who got the most compliments from all of our guests, and that was the lovely photographer, Eleanor. Constantly people kept coming up to us to say how happy and smiley she was throughout. And how professional she was during the day. When the pictures came through, we could not have imagined anyone more talented to capture our beautiful day. There are so many photos from the day where we can go back to the exact feeling we felt at the time. That is all you can wish for from a wedding photographer. We are very shy people, and all we asked for were candid photos. Eleanor delivered these with such grace and professionalism, and we could not recommend her enough.” Samira
Wotton House Wedding
I’ve featured them on the blog because I thought they had some really fresh ideas- especially for their wedding favours!
Their wedding was set in the stunning Wotton House which is surrounded by beautiful Italian Gardens. When I asked them why they chose Wotton House they mentioned the regal backdrop and how the venue didn’t require much decoration to look stunning.
Chris and Samira both have large family who were staying from different areas of the world. They wanted a venue which would be easy, convenient and comfortable for their guests to stay at. The great thing about holding a wedding in a country estate or hotel is the convenience and ease. Wotton house allowed Chris and Samira’s guests to have a more relaxing experience.
The Dress
Samira wore a dress from David’s Bridal and shoes from Rainbow Club. Her bridesmaids were in mint green dresses from Debenhams and her flower girl look absolulty adorable in a dress from Next.
“I cannot recommend my shoe brand enough. It is Rainbow Club who provide special wedding shoes which are padded inside allowing for extra comfort and support. They are reasonably priced and available in quite a few department stores” Samira
(Believe it or not, Samira and I are not being paid by Rainbow Club)
Chris and his groomsmen also looked amazing in their kilts from Chris’ family home town.
When I asked Chris what his favourite part of the day was he said it was seeing Samira walk down the aisle to on their favourite song… Can I just say how lovely that is Chris… I would never get that kind of response from my husband!
“We can both say we honestly had the best day of our lives. Both of us kept repeating all through the evening, just how happy we were to have all of our loved ones in one room. We wish we could have stored that feeling in a little jar to re live whenever we wanted. The stress of organising the wedding is all taken away on that one day. Ultimately we realised that no matter how much preparation we had done, our loved ones would be there to celebrate with us no matter what. Our only advice for the special day is kick back, and enjoy it, soak up every single second, and do not worry if little bits go wrong during the day, just let your worries go, and have the best day of your lives.”
So you can rest assured the stress of planning a wedding is all worth while when the day comes! It rained on Chris and Samira’s wedding day but no one noticed because there was a great atmosphere.
A Great Wedding Favour Idea…
One thing I particularly liked at Chris & Samira’s wedding was their wedding favours. They both chose 3 charities which were close to their hearts and put two tokens by each place name. The tokens represented £1 each and their guests decided which box to put their tokens in. After the wedding the tokens were counted and Chris & Samira donated the money to charity. Not only did it raise awareness to each and every guest at their wedding but it showed kindness and empathy towards others.
The Wedding Cake
The lovely Katy from Icing Elegance made the cake. Chris and Samira sent her photos before the wedding and she created a beautiful replica of what they were after.
The centre pieces and floral design were created by Elaine from ‘Flower’s By Elaine’. They matched perfectly with the table names which were created at ‘Dotty about paper’. Everything looked great! From the DIY ladder seating plan (which Chris had to drive back at get 2 hours before the wedding!) to the activity gift sets for the children, it all came together so nicely.
Speeches
“During the best man’s speech, my brother-in-law got the name of his own newborn son wrong which probably was the funniest part of the whole day. To this day, we still wind him up and call our little nephew Jack (real name Zak).”
Evening Celebrations
Chris and Samira hired a DJ called DJ2K who allowed them to pick all the songs they wanted to play and veto any songs which were a definite no no. He also did a great job of sourcing some of the middle eastern music which Samira requested for her side of the family, including a father/daughter dance.
